ASOS Sandals | ZARA Dress | URBAN OUTFITTERS Hat | ZARA Bag
Just the other day I took to the streets of Shoreditch (East London) with my brother and friend, after lots of conversations about the great cafés and bustling atmosphere around Box Park. Needless to say we had a lovely day out, and on our way back to our cars we found this cute little spot to shoot my outfit!
I’ve been gearing more towards the Flat life, and giving my heels a rest. I love these Gladiators (ASOS) and thought to pair them with this loose and comfy but gorgeous dress (ZARA) for a laid back look. Mind you, the dress was initially bought to be worn at night, the bell sleeves á la Dolce & Gabbana A/W 13 (quite fancied myself cladded in it with ruby lips and a mid-parted low bun, I might still rock that look and show you!).
Right now I’m blogging from my Grandparents’ Kitchen here in Accra (Ghana), I’m visiting for a short time, currently there is no power during the day in our area until late in the evening (they’ve called this “Dum Sɔ”, Twi for “Lights Out”). I’ve found charging all my devices at night, and investing in a portable WiFi kit has helped me keep up with everyone and get a little work done during the day.
Since I got here a couple of days ago, I’ve been hanging out with all my extended family, gaining wisdom from my grandparents, aunties and uncles, while topping up on all my wit from my hilarious cousins!
How are you all?

Hello Shirley,
There’s something vaguely Seventies- ish about your outfit, I think it’s the style of the sleeves and the hat.
You look great.
Have a nice weekend.
All black looks so good on you and that location is to die for! I love the symmetrical arrangement of potted plants 🙂
Hope you really do put up a post about this dress for a night out ’cause I just love versatile pieces.

Love this look. I really love the laid back, East London vibe you,ve got going on with the wide brim hat and lace up gladiators. I went to box park for the first time on Sunday -such a cool place. Have you tried the vegan stir fry place? It’s delicious and I’m a major meat eater

i just found your blog and im in love!
Hi Shirley, you look a bit stressed in the pictures, you should take it easy and don’t let the heat or ‘lights out’, lol, get to you. I know you’ll say we are used to that here in Nigeria but still, don’t let it tire you out cos it can.
And, those sandals are absolutely gorgeous.

i absolutely love that whole outfit and the scene!
Hearing about the power cuts makes me miss home so much! You look great as usual, loving the bell sleeves. I was a bit scared of them from all the 70s-inspired shows but you make them work.
