One of my favourite places in London to go to explore is Notting Hill. From the bustling shops and cafés on the high street, to the pastel coloured houses tucked behind them. My imagination wonders as I shoot the streets with my camera, and I’m instantly inspired to create.
In Notting Hill, there is a bookshop I cherish. I love visiting it from time to time, and always have a field day browsing the many books they have in their collection. I love reading, as it allows me to learn about new things, and know the stories of different people and places. On this day I bought the latest title by Sophie Kinsella, an author I read avidly as a teenager. I remember every time I would buy her books, I would find the nearest comfortable spot to relax and have a read of the first few chapters, as I was too excited and couldn’t wait to get home. I can read for hours without even noticing, so I’ll always bring along some nibbles in case I get hungry. Light & Free Strawberry Sensation is my new favourite to snack on in between meals. On this day, the spot was a step in front of one of the pastel coloured houses. The sunset also set the mood as I delved in to the story, and as usual, Kinsella left me with a feeling of happiness after I laughed throughout the first few chapters.

~ The Reading Tag ~
Here’s a Tag I found, that I though to share!
1. Do you have a certain place for reading?
No, I can read anywhere!
2. Bookmark or a random piece of paper?
Random piece of paper, I could even use a tissue or random receipt!
3. Can you stop reading anytime you want or do have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part etc.?
I have to stop at the end of the chapter, or at the least a paragraph. I like to be able to pick up where I left off with ease.
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
I love having a snack when I’m out and about reading. Light & Free* Strawberry Sensation is always a good choice!
5. Can you read while listening to music/watching tv?
I can read while listening to music. I prefer classical music as it’s calming and relaxing to read to.
Check out my Spotify Playlist of songs I like to read to, HERE!
6. One book at the time of several at once?
One book at a time, definitely.
7. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently in my head!
8. Do you read ahead or skip pages?
No, I like to absorb every word and page.
9. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
I like to keep it looking new, just in case I want to pass it on as gift.
10. Do you write in books?
No, same answer as above! 🙂

Whoho Sophie Kinsella another novel. Ah can’t wait to get mine.
I take my time in purchasing books. If I buy I definitely make notes or write in it.
Ehmmm Danone!
Loving your take on double denim and loving your focus on sharing these bookstore find. I love reading, but haven’t made much time for pleasure reading lately. This was such a great nudge in that direction. Thank you for the inspo!

I love reading too. And there’s something about bookshops and libraries that evokes nostalgic memories of my teen years!
Aww I used to love Sophie Kinsella, still do to be honest. I prefer to read one book at a time as well and I can read anywhere! I also like to learn about the culture of other places by reading novels set in different countries. It’s an interesting way to learn.
The pictures are so pretty Shirley and so are you. xx

I loving reading! So whenever I found myself a good book, I read at the speed of light!
Give me five days and I finished it! It’s just a nice way to ‘escape’ your everyday life and let your mind wander for a while x
So I am currently reading The great gatsby, it being one of my favourite movies all time!
I am a complete bookworm! I can absorb a good book in a matter of hours!

I love Sophie’s books but really need to start reading again, That will be my next agenda, I just noticed I have those same shoes but never wore them, I need to get my life together. Great read.
I love reading! Sometimes my busy lifestyle does not always provide me with the free time I’d like to get in a book, because when I start, I don’t wanna stop till the last page, but I steal some time whenever possible.
BTW Shirley, I love your outfit girl! You’re such an inspiration, I love you!
