We’re half way through December and the time is fast approaching, if not already here, to reflect on the past year. A lot has changed since the beginning of the year, but I’m so grateful for all the experiences I’ve had and learnt from. I’m looking forward to what the next year will bring.
My Instagram Challenge has been going well, although I must admit, it has been a real challenge: remembering to snap away in between meetings and my busy schedule, and also making sure I’ve got the right shot! Haha! But that’s what it’s all about isn’t it?
As most of you may already know, I have deactivated my Twitter account, for reasons I don’t actually have to explain to anyone, but more so because I’ve reached a point in my life were I see it unnecessary to share every single thought I have. A site like Twitter just feeds the impulsive need to do just that (and also rant/vent) and often times I’ve found myself getting so caught up in it. Not very good for one, so it’s goodbye for now. Next… Instagram. Just kidding. Capturing a moment on camera and sharing an immediate thought are two different things in my books, so I will stay on there until a time comes for me to move on. But who knows, with this new policy that will go into effect on January 16th 2013, that time may come sooner or later!
Anyway, how are you all?
I know some of you are missing my Outfit Posts, but let me tell you…It’s been so COLD and DARK!!!
Lol, but will endeavour to deliver a few posts your way soon!

Happy Holidays Shirley!
Don’t worry about deactivating Twitter. I actually agree with you that’s why I simply don’t post on it as much as I did before.
Well I love your Instagram snaps anyways. Out of all of these I think the cutest is the one of your younger sibling in the onesie!
Take care Shirley,
Sheyla
P.s: I’m not sure if you’ve seen my email yet?
love it!

I did the same thing with Facebook, so I understand. I was getting too involved and I am not one to do things in moderation so I deleted it. I do have a “page” for my blog but that’s about it. Social media can really be overwhelming. I have to remind myself to not check my Twitter feed first thing in the morning!
I love the shot of your tree and the makeup! 🙂 You always look stunning

I always enjoy your shots on Instagram.
I’m not liking this news I’m hearing about Instagram changes. Just great … first Facebook now Instagram. Guess I have to find the next best thing 🙂
i’m enjoying your instagram project Capture December…..
I have resisted signing on to Twitter; I think it’s more than enough for me to have facebook, a blog and instagram! Twitter has been revolutionary in the way we interact with people/celebs around the world, but there’s Too Much Information with it….
as for instagram….well with facebook being the owner, i’m not surprised. might have to reconsider my account with instagram…

Happy holidays to you, love! I completely understand about the Twitter thing. With almost any social media network after a while, you start feeling the need to have people’s approval on certain things. It gets draining because one should know the treasure behind keeping things to ourselves. As I always say, I love your style… you’re very inspiring. Stay blessed, sweets. 🙂
You look hot! Haha, great post and I totally agree with the Twitter thing, you get like addicted to it, not healthy!

Good luck with Jane Austen- I read that once, and it was literally the hardest book ever to read!

The social media world can be a lot to deal with so I understand. Love the blog Shirley 🙂

I completely understand. Twitter somehow puts pressure on me to share a thought as soon as I conjure it, and I don’t know if I want to be THAT intimate with the entire web. Solitude is very refreshing. 🙂
Happy holidays, S!
You are so beautiful

Awwwww Nathaniel looks amazing in this onesie!! haha <3
Happy holidays for you and all your family, Shirley!

Twitter can definitely be more of a vice than a virtue at times so I completely understand your decision!
Your instagram pictures look like they were taken with a DSLR! They’re great!
I most definitely AM missing your outfit post, but I understand the temperature is ridiculous! I’m in NY and I usually have to beg my friends (lightly, since they looove me) to take my pictures on cold days.

P.S. Teach my how to be as gorgeous as you are!!!
Hey Shirley,
I really agree on your thoughts on Twitter because I feel the same as well! I stopped using twitter recently and am glad that someone feels the same.
xoxo happy holidays 🙂
Gorgeous photos Shirley! I’m totally jealous of people whose instagram feeds look absolutely perfect, like yours!
And, I understand exactly what you mean about deactivating your twitter. I kept mine deactivated for about half the year, it was such a good break. When I finally reactivated it, it felt awkward and forced to tweet what was on my mind.
Have a great day, Dara <3
LOVE IT x
i often think the same thing. i usually don’t use twitter for the fact that i think and rethink things too much and then i just think its so silly. good for you for doing that. we don’t need to share everything, and everyone doesn’t need to have full access to everything.
love ya girl!
I completely understand what you mean….You will be missed on twitter 🙂
Can you tell me what program you use to collage your photos together? Thanks x
