What’s only a train ride away from London, dotted with beautiful buildings, croissants and as they say “Capital de la mode”?
Paris, duh! 😉
My friend Abi and I took a little trip across the channel to rediscover Paris and its beauty, and ofcourse to exercise our palettes and get a spot of shopping done.
Although I’m a heavy planner, I do love these spur of the moment trips from time to time, they remind me to make the most of my youth, flexibility and independence, and as Abi and I were saying, a time a will come were it won’t be so easy (not impossible, but not easy either!).
So we took in the sights while enjoying strolling through the city. We had dinner at Hotel Castille, L’assaggio where a live band played music.. it was literally the most romantic thing ever!
My room for the night was at the Hidden Hotel, a hip hotel just off the Champs Elysee. The host turned out to be a lovely subscriber and follower and we had such a good time chatting it up, and she introduced me to the rest of her team who were extremely lovely and hospitable. The room was gorgeous, neutral in tone and serene in feel…just enough zen for a great night sleep!
The following morning, I enjoyed a light breakfast at my hotel and took to the streets once again with Abi. This time we did more touristy stuff and managed a visit to the shops on rue Saint-Honore. My fave was Colette, a department store curated by their expert buyers with pieces from various well-known designers. It was cool to get inspiration from…as I’m not quite ready to part with a couple of grand for a piece, and said piece was a jacket by Alexander Wang. Maybe soon though, watch this space!
They also had a beauty section dotted with brands I’d never heard of, but it was nice to have a swatch marathon!
Had such a lovely time, and can’t wait to be back!
I hope you like the photos! X
